We are looking for a Melbourne-based Specialist Lighting Designer to join our team. We seek a good collaborator who has a willingness to learn new skills. The position is part time (3 days per week) with the goal of growing into a full time position.
Schuler Shook is an internationally recognised, award winning theatre, AV, and lighting consulting firm with projects in Australia and around the world. You will work with our team of collaborators in our Melbourne office. We also share information and ideas with our USA offices in Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, New York, and San Francisco.
We have an exciting opportunity for a person who is passionate about Specialist Lighting documentation and design to join our Melbourne team. As an integral contributor to our team, you will be involved in projects from start to finish.
Your Skills and Experience:
Your abilities are more important to us than the number of years of experience, but 2 years of drafting with Revit and AutoCAD are desired.
You must be a proficient visual and verbal communicator and be able to manage multiple tasks to meet client deadlines.
We are a client-driven office, so you will go beyond the drafting aspects of the job. Strong organizational skills and personal initiative are required.
You should ideally have some experience with the following design software:
An otherwise well-qualified candidate who does not have Revit experience will be required to attend AutoCad/Revit training. As an entry level designer, you will join the Schuler Shook team and create CAD and Revit documentation for most projects.

The Melbourne office is a collaborative effort including Theatre Planning, Audio Video, and Lighting. You may be needed to work across disciplines on occasion depending on the total workload of the office.
Our Richmond office is located on Swan Street with ample transport options available. This part-time offer is for in-office work only.
