Duane Schuler Lights Bel Canto for Lyric Opera

Composer Jimmy Lopez is just months away from seeing his new work, “Bel Canto,” performed at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Duane Schuler is lighting the production, and he appears in this excellent interview of Mr. Lopez by John von Rhein for the Chicago Tribune.
The production is the Lyric’s first commissioned work since 2004.
