Garth Hemphill, CTS-D, Newest Principal at Schuler Shook

Firm News – Jan 2022

Schuler Shook is pleased to announce Garth Hemphill, CTS‑D, has joined our team as Principal. Garth is an industry leader, known for his design of integrated audio, video, and control systems, as well as his collaborations with manufacturers as he seeks better solutions for clients across multiple industries.

Garth draws on more than 30 years of audio and video experience including theatrical sound design, engineering, and consulting, as he actively creates new solutions that balance the intimacy of live performance with the possibilities created by immersive and experiential technologies. He has designed, managed, and provided design guidance for hundreds of projects including new theatres, renovations, studies, and master plans. His consulting experience encompasses a broad range of spaces including theatres, performing arts centres, museums, stadiums, houses of worship, theme park attractions, corporate facilities, educational facilities, and cruise ship terminals.

I like to go deeper into the stated requirements for every project and have those conversations that bring out the client’s real needs and wants. Those are the challenges that inspire me. I want advances in technology to serve real needs and open up possibilities. Design challenges are really just opportunities, and that is what excites me and gets me up in the morning.”
