Jefferey Knox to Lead Light and Health Presentation at METROCON13

News – July 2013

Are some light sources healthier” than others? What is a non-visual photoreceptor doing in our eyes? Jefferey Knox, IES, Senior Lighting Designer at Schuler Shook, will shed light on these topics and more during his presentation, Light – Can It Affect Your Health?” at METROCON13 in Dallas, Thursday, 15 August 2013.

In his presentation, Jeff will explain both the positive and negative affects of different spectra on the human body and explain how the time of day that we receive certain spectra can be either good for us or not so healthy. What we have learned is that humans truly need daytime and nighttime for optimum health. Can lighting designers incorporate this knowledge into design projects?

Jeff’s continuing education course is sold out at METROCON13, but you can click here to schedule the presentation at your office.

METROCON is a joint collaboration between the Texas/Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA and the Texas Chapter of AISD. This is one of the largest conferences for Interior Designers in the Texas/Oklahoma area and is expected to have a total attendance of over 2,500 design professionals.
