Jim Baney to Discuss Daylighting at Facades+ Conference

News – Nov 2015

Jim Baney, IALD, IES, LC, LEED AP, will participate in a workshop session at the Facades+ Conference in Chicago, Friday, November 6th.

He will join Helen Sanders, Steve Fronek, and Soyoung Hwang for High Performance or Healthy Occupant: Do we have to choose?

This group of presenters will cover a range of topics, with something for everyone. Attendees will learn why provision of daylight and views are so critical to occupant health and well-being, and about effective daylight design strategies that manage daylight without causing occupant thermal and visual discomfort.

The panelists will also explain how recent advances in envelope and daylighting technology can help create both healthy and efficient buildings, and specifically about the use of dynamic fenestration systems that, for the first time, allow building owners to actively control the building envelope depending on weather-related factors.

A highly regarded architectural lighting designer, Jim is a Partner at Schuler Shook. He works with daylight and electric light and enjoys crafting sustainable lighting solutions that fit the character of each unique project and building type. His experience in daylighting design and analysis, and his knowledge of electric light sources enable him to integrate these sources to their maximum benefit.
