Joshua Grossman, ASTC, served as a design mentor for USITT student members in the annual ASTC-USITT Venue Renovation Challenge. Students had to present their solutions to a USITT panel and a live audience.
Josh worked with students on the DePaul University team who created solutions to improve the Merle Reskin Theatre in Chicago. The members of the DePaul University team were Jamie Davis, David Millard, Jackson Walsh, Alyse Porsella, Alexa Santiago, Joe Clavell, Dana Stringer, Nathaly Garcia, Marisa Melito, Jamie Lynn Woods, Vada Branco, and Kevin Kushman. Shane Kelly served as faculty advisor. The team received the $360 Merit Award. Top honors went to the Yale University team who selected the University Theatre at Yale for their renovation challenge. The members of the Yale University team were Jeong Sik Yoo and Mitchell Cramond with Gene Leitermann serving as ASTC mentor and Matt Welander as faculty advisor.
