Patient comfort is top priority at this Pediatric Center, which consolidates nearly all of the clinic's pediatric services into one location for added convenience and to reduce stress. A nature theme creates a calming and welcoming environment, allowing patients and their families to relax between appointments. Floor to ceiling details celebrate the Midwest’s wildlife and natural settings including the birch tree columns, the Mississippi River shaped carpet, and live, local zoo webcam streams.

Schuler Shook worked closely with the design architects and sculpture fabricators to realize the Pediatric Center’s goal of a dynamic, positive distraction environment. LED light sources provided energy efficiency and maintenance friendly illumination for wall panels and suspended leaf forms. Color changing LED samples illuminate an interactive sculptural glass walls and ‘tree trunk’ themed structural columns.
