The 425-seat theatre employs an embracing seating layout and a balcony, keeping the audience very close to the young actors and musicians.

Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School is a private institution for students in grades Pre‑K through 12. As part of its 2009 Strategic Plan, TJIDS planned an expansion to include a proscenium theatre and support space as well as new music rehearsal spaces. The venue is now known as the TJ Concert Hall and is used for school productions as well as the presentation of touring professional productions.
Working with Perkins + Will’s designers, Schuler Shook planned a multi-purpose performance space that maximizes its use for young performers and for large productions.
The stage offers adequate space for large events as well as high-quality rigging and lighting systems.
