In honor of Black History Month, we want to spread the word about events being produced by some of our clients.
There’s a lot of great programming happening this month and we welcome you to check out these events:
Goodman Theatre, Chicago, IL:
See Fat Ham, Goodman’s co-production with Definition Theatre, and check out the vendor pop-ups happening every Saturday this month in the lobby from noon‑7:30. The Fat Ham vendor pop-ups are part of the Definition Innovator series that amplifies and supports Black-owned businesses.

George Washington Carver Museum, Austin, TX:
The Carver Museum has a robust slate of programming happening this month, under the theme of “African Americans and Labor” including a genealogy seminar, HBCU day, and the opening of their upcoming exhibit “Second Sight”. Hattiloo Theatre, Memphis, TN:
This month, Hattiloo is hosting a Black History Symposium Series with local thought leaders sharing their expertise, knowledge, and perspectives. Happening on the 8th, 15th, and 22nd, each event will feature a speaker sharing on a different theme followed by a dynamic discussion.

Court Theatre, Chicago, IL:
Check out Lorraine Hansbury’s classic play A Raisin in the Sun at Court Theatre in Chicago, extended by popular demand through Sunday, March 9th. Court is also producing a variety of events to complement the production, including a book club, a film screening and lecture, a hybrid learning program, and a post-show discussion.

TimeLine Theatre Company, Chicago, IL:
From now until March 2nd, TimeLine Theatre Company is presenting a site-specific, immersive production of Debate about the historic debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley Jr. Check out the Sunday Scholars Panel Discussion on February 16th or see the show on the 60th anniversary of the actual event on February 18th. The show is presented in partnership with The Theatre School at DePaul University at DePaul’s Cortelyou Commons.

825 Arts, St. Paul, MN:
There is a fantastic line-up of programming for the Black History Month Spectacular at 825 Arts:
2/21, 4 – 7pm: Black To The Future: Kid’s Black History Exploration is centreed around Black excellence, including inventors, scientists, artists and more. The event will feature opportunities for kids to test their inventive skills, see a fashion show, and take part in a game show where participants can win prizes.
2/22, 11 – 3pm: Black History Month: Breaking Generational Curses: Featuring a brunch and a panel of special guests, this event will explore generational curses, incarceration, and making your dreams come true, with time for Q&A. Tickets to the brunch and panel are sold separately for convenience.
2/23, 2 – 5pm: How Are You Feeling Mentally? Black Men’s Panel: This RONDO Barbershop themed conversation provides a safe space for Back boys and men to have an open dialogue about mental health and personal experiences. Following the discussion, stay for a haircutting contest featuring three local barbershops!
