Kim explains, “This standard is part of the larger E1.6 powered hoisting systems project. This particular part is for the design, manufacture, installation, inspection, and maintenance of powered hoist systems in theatrical venues, but specifically excluding chain hoists and systems for flying people.”
Kim is pleased to have been part of the group that saw the task, which began decades ago as a project under USITT, to completion.
