Keith Friedlander
ASTC
Theatre Consultant
Chicago
Keith’s passion for live entertainment led to fifteen years in theatrical production. He brings that same enthusiasm, coupled with his wealth of theatrical knowledge and know-how, to his work at Schuler Shook. His experience in the constantly moving and changing theatre world helps him to evaluate issues and find solutions for our theatre planning projects.
Keith collaborated on productions in leading US regional theatres, in positions including Lighting Supervisor, Assistant Lighting Designer, Master Electrician and Console Programmer. He also worked on opera productions, arena tours and outdoor events.
He understands the theatre design process from the client’s side of the table, as he participated in the renovation of the Hubbard Stage, the larger of the Alley Theatre’s two performance spaces. These experiences give him a well-rounded understanding of a variety of performance spaces. Keith enjoys designing theatre buildings that work for productions and the companies that produce them.
