Schuler Shook provided full theatre consulting services for the new 50,000 square foot home for Black Ensemble Theater, a professional company that specialises in musical theatre.
The new building houses a 300-seat thrust stage theatre and a 200-seat black box space. The new facility serves as a cultural centre and supports the theatre company’s mission of eliminating racism through theatre arts, education and community outreach.
Black Ensemble Theater’s home on Clark Street opened the next chapter for this Chicago landmark institution, giving them a permanent home where they can build and celebrate their community and art while expanding access to the arts and education for all.”
