The Carlsbad High School Performing Arts Center serves both Carlsbad Municipal Schools and the greater southeastern New Mexico community. The 84,000-square-foot facility includes a 1,700-seat proscenium theatre designed to support student performances, educational programming, community events, and touring Broadway. Supporting spaces include rehearsal rooms, classrooms, scene shops, and production support areas that provide hands-on learning opportunities across multiple disciplines of the performing arts.
Schuler Shook provided theatre consulting services including auditorium planning, theatre seating, stage planning, front-of-house planning, performer and production support area planning, stage rigging, and stage curtain and track systems. Working closely with the architect and project team, Schuler Shook helped create a flexible and technically sophisticated performance environment that supports both educational and community use.
