Advanced production technologies, an innovative elliptical shape, and a 100 foot wide stained-glass window create a unique space that supports services, concerts, and lectures.
The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection
Leawood, KS
Advanced production technologies, an innovative elliptical shape, and a 100 foot-wide stained-glass window create a unique space where no parishioner further than 100 feet from the pastor.
Our two charges for the Church of the Resurrection were to help plan an intimate 3,500-seat space where the pastor was never more than 130 feet from any seat and to integrate a considerable amount of high-end performance technology into the beautiful contemporary worship space.”

Concealed catwalks, a robust theatrical lighting system, and flexible architectural lighting allow the space to pivot from a traditional worship space to a dynamic concert venue for contemporary services. A large stage lift allows materials and music equipment to be quickly moved between services.
A motorised curtain blacks out the stained-glass window as needed. Outside, this window is visible and can be illuminated at night and when the curtain is closed.
