The new stage house with counter-weighted rigging and new stage and house lighting system provides for both local and touring performances, accommodating broadway tours, opera and symphonic events.
Plaza Theatre

Since its opening in 1930, the Plaza Theatre was known as the Showplace of the Southwest for it’s size, elaborate decor, and technical innovations. This atmospheric theater displayed a starry night with clouds and a dark sky across the ceiling when the lights dimmed. In 1986 the deteriorating theatre was saved from demolition.
Schuler Shook’s theatre planning services for the renovation and restoration included a new larger stage house, new children’s theatre and all new support spaces and technical systems for this 2,100-seat theatre.
