The auditorium’s inefficient incandescent lighting system was replaced with an all-LED solution, and new lighting designs add ambience to the all-new foyers and lounges.
Theatre Royal Sydney
Sydney, NSW
The current Theatre Royal first opened in 1976 within MLC Centre but had closed in 2016. After four years of disuse, new owners stepped in and required extensive renovations to the theatre’s public areas, seating and amenities, as well as backstage areas. Schuler Shook’s designers provided specialist lighting and AV services for all renovated areas.
Our audio and video design includes new video displays and digital signage at entrances, bars, lounges, box office, and merchandise counter. A 3x3 LCD monitor video wall brings activity to the public entrance. Foyers, bars, and lounges have a new paging system as well.
Effective collaboration with the architect and the owner’s technical staff allowed the team to achieve the desired outcome for a complex renovation on time and on budget.
