Schuler Shook worked closely with Detail Studio Architects to develop the project brief, plan the theatre spaces, including a 520-seat auditorium and stage, and document the performance infrastructure, including AV systems, rigging, acoustic shells, and an orchestra lift. The facility also features flexible back-of-house areas, including a large rehearsal room designed for both teaching and production support.
Trinity College Marnkutyi Parina Theatre
Adelaide, SA
Trinity College is a large independent school located in Evanston South, just outside Adelaide.
To support its growing performing arts program, the college required a new performing arts centre that would allow students to develop and showcase their work across a range of disciplines. The main theatre needed to accommodate both amplified and unamplified events and serve the full scope of the school’s creative curriculum.
The stage includes a modular orchestra shell system that can transform the space for orchestral or theatrical performance, with a changeover time of under 30 minutes, maximising flexibility and educational value for students and staff alike.
