Jim is a director and principal designer in the Melbourne office which he helped establish with Bob Shook in 2009. Jim began his career in theatre planning in 2000, gradually shifting from his work as a stage lighting designer to become a full-time theatre planner. Over the years, he has successfully completed more than 100 projects, ranging from masterplans to fully realised buildings.
He is passionate about all areas of theatre planning and especially enjoys designing stage layouts and auditorium seating and sightlines. He believes in careful collaboration and seeks the appropriate solution for each design need. His background in theatre and architectural lighting affords him a strong position from which to coordinate Schuler Shook’s theatre planning and specialist lighting design services.
